I drive a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 about 40 miles round trip to work, so when gas hit $4 a gallon it was costing me about $11 a day to drive to work. It did not take me long to hit on the idea of riding a motorcycle to work to save on gas. It was an easy sell to the wife and after shopping for a few weeks I bought a 2002 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit.
I have been riding for a few weeks now and love it! Now I am only spending about $3.20 a day on gas as the bike gets about 50 miles a gallon, plus the fun of riding the bike to work is a big bonus.
I am signed up to take a motorcycle safety course that is endorsed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Provided I pass, I should have my full motorcycle endorsement by next week!
