Good news for computer users everywhere! Doesn’t matter if you are a Windows lover or hater, this is good news for software and the people who use it.  Microsoft has finally agreed to follow the rules and regulations put in place by the European Union.  This is a step towards allow creativity and competition in the market, now if we could get our government to stop taking dirty money from Redmond, we could enjoy some of those same benefits here!

Just thought I’d post a quick follow up to my first ever Ohio Linux Fest. I had a great time, met a lot of really cool people and really enjoyed being around a whole lot of other Linux geeks! Made me feel good to meet face to face with others who are passionate about Linux and Open Source software!

I especially enjoyed the talk by John “Maddog” Hall, he is someone I have admired for a long time and it was an honor to hear him speak and to briefly get to speak to him!

The Fark Party on Friday was a blast, had a lot of good beer (a few too many) and met more interesting people. I’ll have some photos posted soon!

Can’t wait until next year, I’ll be there for sure!

My new Dell XPS 410 N was delivered yesterday! I am pretty stoked to get it up and running. I took a peek inside, but have not even taken it out of the box yet, hopefully today. This computer is going to replace my three year old AMD box. I mostly wanted to buy this to show some support for computers pre-loaded with Ubuntu.
My office is still a mess, but I should be able to set it up today and try it out. I’ll update on my experience and thoughts about it.

I am anticipating issues with the nVidia card and possibly sound, however, it should not be hard to resolve those issues.
